HHANWLA Scholarship App
The Hispanic Heritage Association of Northwest Louisiana (HHANWLA) was founded in 2021 with the mission of promoting the progress and development of Hispanics in the region. Through events and partnerships with other organizations, we focus on advancing culture, education, health, sports, business, the arts, and more. We believe that education is a vital cornerstone in the growth and success of our local youth.
In 2023, HHANWLA established the Scholarship Fund to support Latino students pursuing higher education at colleges and universities. We are proud to have awarded over $30,000 in scholarships in the past two years, thanks to the leadership of our Scholarship Committee, led by Loreli Lopez.
TERMS: Scholarships will be awarded to qualified Latino students who are currently enrolled or planning to enroll in accredited colleges or universities in the United States. Awards range from $250 to $1,000 and will be presented at the Noche de Gala on Saturday, October 11, 2025. Scholarship recipients are encouraged to attend the Gala to accept their award. Scholarship funds may be used toward tuition, academic fees, housing, meals, educational materials, and required books.
This year, our goal is to raise at least $15,000 to award scholarships to 15 deserving students.
📅 Application Deadline: July 31, 2025
